  1. DE KINDERKRANT VAN GOUDA OOST
Commissioned by Wijkteam Gouda Oost / Initiated by Journalist Sanne Rooseboom / Every 3 months an issue
Problem area Oosterwei in Gouda had a great deal of negative publicity in the past. The Childrens Newspaper highlights Oosterwei in a different way. The children write stories, columns and poems about their lives and about the neighborhood. They interview people and make all their own pictures. The project is guided and edited by Sanne Rooseboom.

  5. MAKARABA MATCH
Exhibition during World Cup 2010 at the VVV in Tilburg / initiated and organised by Sander van Bussel
The makaraba, a hand- cut and hand painted hard hat, is part of the typical South African soccer fan's supporters gear.
I was asked to take part in a 'match' with 11 Dutch hand made hats and 11 South African. Making a makaraba seems easier than it is.
It envolves a lot of heavy sawing, heating the thick plastic to make it softer and in my case drilling hundreds of holes. I liked the idea of using a soft material, like embroidery thread in the hard plastic hat. Some of the other artist were Peter Pontiac (great illustrator), Studio Smack (with the biggest makaraba ever), Jeroen de Leijer (Eefje Wentelteefje!).
The hats were auctioned for charity at Festival Mundial.
